Be Yourself.

Minister Joseph Shepherd

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth are no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Ephesians 4:11-16

I hope you all are having a fantastic day. One thing the Lord has placed upon my heart to share is to “Be Yourself”. I speak for myself in this post, but there may be someone else who needs a little reminder on what this means. So, I’ll be sharing my viewpoint on this revelation. God appoints “some” Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists, and Teachers. Not only is this exemplified in scripture spiritually, but in our physical makeup. This includes how we walk, how we talk, and anything else! These things are what make us unique, and in God’s eyes, they are also the very things that make us Beautiful/Handsome in every way possible. So why should we as Believers try to be just like someone else? God may have given them grace in a particular area that you’re not privy to, but rest assured, yours is located elsewhere.

Oftentimes, we see others around us receiving what appears to be blessings, and we begin to question if we are doing all the right things. Don’t lose sight in an attempt to create your own blessing because theirs came at the appropriate time. Prematurely, you may act upon your gift, meanwhile, God was trying to put the cherry on top the whole time. Have patience, and love yourself just as you love others. You hold just as much value, and your brothers and sisters depend on you, just as you do on them. Continue seeking the Father, and eventually, that little light bulb will switch. To that end, in the process of discovering the grace upon your life, be diligent in prayer, and remain in a position to be helpers one to another.
