Never Give Up

Min. Misti Sawyer

One of the hardest things for me to do is to watch the ones I love held in bondage to anger, bitterness, or hurts from the past especially when I’ve tried so hard to give them the Word and to be a light for them.  It’s hard when you know that if they would just open their hearts and let their guard down just a little to allow the love of Jesus to come in, that they would be set free.  To be honest, this has been heavy on me for the past few days as I see someone so close to me struggling.

The hope I carry is realizing that I too was once in that place of hurt, anger, and fear.  My husband and I talked about this last night; we’re so grateful for the people that the Father placed around us to be the light of Yeshua to us.  We are grateful to the Father for sending Holy Spirit to come in and renew our minds as well as our hearts.  We are so grateful for the atmosphere our children are growing up in because Yeshua set us free.  I am also reminded of the many others that I have prayed for and being able to witness the testimonies of how the Father has changed their lives.  It reminds me that even when we can’t see how or what the Father is doing, He is moving.  I’m reminded that just as the Father loves and fought for me, He loves and is fighting for them too.  While I don’t like to see the ones I love go through things, I know that the wisdom of our Father is supreme.  I know that His love never fails and that His mercies are renewed every day.  I’m thankful for the people who loved me and didn’t give up hope on me when I was lost. Now, I too, am charged with that same responsibility.

This blog may seem like I’m talking to myself and truly I am the first partaker, but I pray that it encourages someone else today to not give up hope.  Jesus didn’t give up on us, so we can’t give up on others.  We don’t know how the Father is moving on an individual, but we do know that He hears our prayers.  The same love the Father has shown to us, He is offering to them.  One thing we do have to remember though is that the choice to receive is ultimately theirs.  I choose to continue to live a life poured out, because the greatest joy to me is when I know our Father has been able to use me to reach, help, or set someone else free.  Some will receive, while others will not, but our job is to continue to be the light.

Matthew 5:14-16

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
