Culture of Fornication Message Notes:
We live in a culture of fornication. People want “friends with benefits,” covenant without commitment and fulfillment without faithfulness. They covet spiritual advantages without the patience required to receive them, so they fornicate. But what does fornication mean or indicate, spiritually?
People would rather circumvent God’s laws for a quick, self-made reward than obey Him for the greater blessing He’s already prepared.
The blessings of the Lord are pure and lasting, but as we’ve learned, they take time to develop. The issue is not that God can’t create something good in an instant. The issue is that truly good things are worth waiting for, and veils are the mechanism divinely used to perfect the greatest rewards. Still, for the impatient, veils interfere with instant satisfaction they desire.
The Assault On the Veil
Veils of God are not just unappreciated; They are an obstruction. Every thing that appears to be an obstruction to lust and wantonness is intentionally and often aggressively removed. This includes God’s laws, His son Jesus and even the children of God. Everything that exists as a veil of God is eventually disregarded and destroyed because of sin. They persecuted and killed Jesus, the word of God made flesh, and they will continue to persecute the people of God who carry God’s laws in their hearts.
*Matthew 5:9-16
9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.*
Though the assault on the veils of God are great, it must be understood that they are not easily removed. In fact, their destruction or removal is completely controlled by the timing of God. There are several instances in scripture where this is made abundantly evident.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness
John 10:11-18
11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Therefore, the assault on God’s veils is only allowed for as long as He has prescribed. Thus, the time that God permits the suffering of His veils is a direct expression of His desire not to see its destroyers perish. While a veil’s removal comes with a great blessing for the people of God, it simultaneously comes with great condemnation for those whose hands destroyed it. As we previously discussed, the 5th and 6th seals of Revelation are an example of this as martyrdom becomes the direct mobilizer of God’s hand of judgment.
As we are observing the world grow increasingly riotous and lawless, we are witnessing an assault on the veil. We are watching as people hasten their own demise. As John 10 states, the worst part about these attacks on God’s veils is that His keepers of the veil are abandoning it. Those who are supposed to stand by Jesus and lovingly obey His commands are leaving Him alone at the proverbial cross. Many, who should be standing with and for Jesus are running in fear of persecution just like the disciples ran when the persecutors came to take Jesus.
Matthew 26-55-56
55In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. 56But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
But why did Jesus own people come to turn Him in? They realized that their hope for an earthly kingdom was gone in favor of the heavenly kingdom Jesus truly came to establish, and the only way to attain it was through a standard of righteousness they were unwilling to follow.
When the church betrays its principles and abandons it’s position of righteousness, the world is emboldened in its pervasive sin, and the culture of immorality seeks opportunity to aggressively pursue its own agenda.
Looking for Fulfilment In All the Wrong Places
Within the core and essence of every human, we were wired to be fulfilled one way only—spiritually. We reveal our awareness of this in everything we do. We search for things that resemble truth and cling to shallow symbols of love and righteousness but then abandon the authentic source. People look all around God for things that look like God. People are willing to recognize that power comes from a source greater than themselves, but they refuse to acknowledge that is Jesus. Many are in search of the path to God, and Jesus is the only way.
*John 10:1-10
1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.*
People’s souls are desperately in search of the spiritual fulfillment that can only come through Jesus. So, even though He stands at the opening of the veil to allow safe passage into the eternal spiritual world, people are tearing at the veil to find their own way through. The only way out of bondage to the law or to the physical world is Christ..
John 14:1-6
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
There is only one way to the eternal security that we were made for—that we long for. Yet, people would rather circumvent God. This is where understanding Babylon is important. In the beginning, God created another type of veil that separates us from Him, and that is the Heavens.
Nimrod and Babylon’s Contempt for the Veil
Let’s go back to the beginning and observe another type of veil—the Heavens.
Genesis 1:1, 6-8
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
…..
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Here, the heavens being mentioned aren’t the dwelling place of God, because they didn’t exist before Him. These heavens were something physically created to serve a purpose alongside the earth. That purpose was to use the physical world as the place where mankind could grow and develop with time into the purpose God has called them to. As they were constructed, these heavens or skies physically separated waters above the earth from the waters below. Even more profound is the revelation that they spiritually carried the same purpose.
Water symbolizes the eternal law and judgment of God, and it was suspended in the air to allow life to live. Spiritually, the judgment of God’s law was—and still is—being suspended in time by His mercy to allow eternal life to be received among men.
In the days of Noah, God unleashed His judgment by releasing the skies of Heaven to pour out an abundance of rain. This was symbolically and literally the judgment of ubiquitous sin that plagued the earth. In the last days, the heavens will move again, and God will unleash His judgment again but spiritually and for eternity.
2 Peter 3:10
10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Revelation 6:12-14
12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Yet still, in response to God’s judgement, a cushite leader named Nimrod inspired masses of people to build the city of Babel in defense of judgment and in search of their own self-exaltation. Nimrod led incited these people, who would soon after be divided into several conflicting nations, to unite in defiance to God. Specifically, and most interestingly, the city of Babel sought to breach the veil of the firmament.
Genesis 11:1-4
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
In this event, the defiant and aggressive nature of sin was epitomized in the behavior of men, both literally and spiritually, and they were punished by being separated into nations.
The conflict of nations is a reminder of Babel’s curse.
Any effort to reverse that curse without Jesus or His Holy Spirit is a work of the spirit of antichrist and an effort to build Babylon again. Seeking to restore unity among nations without the God of reconciliation is an endeavor to blaspheme God by reversing His curse to spit Him.
There is way provided by which the curse of conflict among nations can be reversed and it was displayed at pentecost, in Acts 2. That was–and still is– is the Holy Spirit sent to us by the Father and His Son, Jesus.
Acts 2:1-11
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Any desire to band together without the Holy Spirit or Jesus at the center is a spiritual attempt to build a city and a tower to breach the veil of heaven.
Our Current Culture & World
Building an army to war against God and His people has always been the plan of the enemy, and it remains that way today. Through entertainment, media and other systems of this world, Satan has launched an onslaught of Luciferian propaganda that would put Nazi-era Hitler to shame. His goal is to justify painting God as the enemy while emboldening people to challenge and defy Him.
The pop-culture we enjoy is His greatest weapon. Through Hollywood and silicon valley, the tech, liberal, money and overall sin capitol of the world, he preaches his sinful ideologies. Additionally, through Global innovation in these areas, overall, there is potential for good, but ultimately Satan suggests that they be used for evil.
Ironically, pop-culture is largely led by Cushite, dark skinned people people. In their aggression, impressiveness and undeniable influence, the trends of the sports and entertainment world are set in motion. Black people, united, are a powerful force, and their strength can be manipulated by Satan if they are unaware.
Isaiah 8:1-2
Alas, oh land of whirring wings Which lies beyond the rivers of [a]Cush, 2 Which sends envoys by the sea, Even in papyrus vessels on the surface of the waters. Go, swift messengers, to a nation [b]tall and smooth, To a people feared [c]far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation Whose land the rivers divide.
Jesus prophesied that nation would rise against nation in the Olivet Discourse of scripture (Matthew 24:7), and Satan will seek to remedy civil dissension by building Babylon yet again. Not only will he build it, but he will attempt to leverage the generally authoritative and aggressive nature of dark-skinned people to accomplish it. In the days of Noah, he used Nimrod to build Babel. Today, he seeks to use the spirit of Nimrod to resurrect Babylon again. His promise is the lie that we can achieve camaraderie, justice and obtain God-like fulfillment on our own effort. Remember, this was even the same lie he told Eve.
Neither black people or any other nation are obligated to accept the plan of Satan. As humankind, we can combine the strength of our ethnic differences and the power of our spiritual gifts, in Christ, to bring reconciliation to the world.
The Remnant Must Endure
The barrier preventing the imminent judgment of God is hanging on by a thread. Now, more than ever, is a time for the Saints to pray for God to hold back the plan of the enemy and pray in preparation for what is coming. The veil is under attack, but the world is not going to find the euphoria it’s looking for. It’s going to run into judgment.
That judgment is a long time coming, but it will be actuated by the destruction of the veil who are the elect people of God. The church, particularly the remnant of Israel who believe in Jesus will be end-times martyrs who catalyze the 2nd coming of Christ. The church being called out on its fear and pushed out of its comfortability, and a righteous remnant will remain.
The disregard for veils means hatred for the people of God, and we must be prepared to truly stand especially when it’s unpopular to do so.
